My studio

My work is mainly studio based so a comfortable, organised, and tidy work space is important.  I generally work on three paintings, in their various stages, at any time.  As one is drying, say between glazes, another may need additional drawing, while the other is in the final stages.  It sounds like a production line but it helps prevent mental blocks, getting locked into one painting, and also maximises studio time.

I also like painting in the courtyard just outside my studio, under a beech tree where cool natural light helps optimise colour greys and values.
