Day 2 to Lynmouth.
Difficult start to day walking across Porlock weir with large stoney beach then frequent steep diversions around land slips and storm damage all the way to Lynmouth on the cliffs. most of the way was a very rugged magical woodland path with gnarled tree roots and twisted branches often resembling animal sculptures. Plenty of cascading waterfalls and spooky arching tree branches. Only met two walkers today. Very quiet. Sea surf to my right with echoing birdsong to my left. Weather was good for walking I don’t think I would have managed those hills in hot sunshine. The final hill in Lynmouth beat me so I caught the cliff train up to my digs.
