Stage one completed.
Walked the five miles from Combe Martin to Ilfracombe and knew something was wrong. Lost energy and felt feverish and struggled with hills I know I can normally manage. Arrived at my digs in Ilfracombe with a nose bleed and found small remaining legs of an insect, and what looked like a bite on my foot, when showering. This turned red, felt nauseous, and tired. So decided to return home and continue the journey at a later date. It could have been a tick bite as many signs, along the way, warned walkers of the dangers and thought I was ok wearing trousers, not shorts, not thinking they can easily be scuffed into boots. So, a little disappointed but enjoyed the time between Minehead and Ilfracombe and shall pick up the walk from Ilfracombe next time.
